Recognized as one of the most powerful and moving voices in Mexican music, Aída Cuevas celebrated 50 years of career with an unforgettable concert last Sunday, September 28th, at Cal State LA's iconic Luckman Auditorium. The only GRAMMY® and Latin GRAMMY®-winning woman in the mariachi genre, she presented a program spanning five decades of hits, from "El Pastor" to "Quizás Mañana," performed with the elegance, authenticity, and profound emotion that have defined her career.
For more than two hours, the sold-out audience cheered every performance. Cuevas was accompanied by Mariachi Aztlan ensembled by a talented students, the Mariachi band from the University of Texas-Rio Grande Valley, who also enriched the show with the power of folkloric dance and the special appearance of two female voices who amazed with masterful performances.
With more than 43 albums recorded and over 11 million copies sold worldwide, Aída Cuevas reaffirmed her place as a pioneer and icon of ranchera music in Los Angeles. This concert marked the kickoff of her U.S. tour, a celebration of half a century of taking Mexican music to the top and keeping alive a tradition that continues to unite hearts and borders.
